roll bar mounts tearing away:(

Noticed today while fitting new lower arms that where the brackets for the front roll bar mount to the chassis rails is peeling away and has already snapped on of the spot welds... is this common and what have people done? Just looks like from exsessive hard high speed corners it has but huge loads onto the rolbar mounts which have pulled on the rails...

I was looking at it and looks like the plate could be tapped back into the right spot and then just seam weld it to the chassis rails where its supposed to sit rather than rely on the tiny spot welds...

Probably best to get new chassis rail support arms and weld them on properly. I think they are around £40 each from Nissan.

the mount is peeling or the chassis rail is peeling?

I have one crumpled chassis rail at the anti roll bar mount after a crash. Yours might be crash damage too? Basically if the front wheels get hit, a lot of lateral force goes through the roll bar and onto the chassis rails.

Hello bud, I had this problem on mine. Just find a garage which will do m.o.t welding and they will solve the problem. I found a workshop in the yellow page's which specialises in mot welding repair. it took 2 hours.o.k
