Power FC knock questions

How do you monitor the knock on your Power FC? My question to be more specific has to do with ranges. When on the track I will see a peak of 30-33 for the knock sensor but under normal driving it will sit around 11-17. Though the odd time I will see a spike but never stays in the high range. What should I be looking for?
