what plugs and gaps should be used runnin 1 bar boost n usuall mods mongoose, filter, fuel pump ??

did have denso ones in but they burnt out very quick well the fine tip melted a little to one side on them so put std ngks in it

Nope, 8 is the heat range. They're 1 step cooler than the standard 7 heat range. They'll be good for 1 bar running and probably up to around 1.2 bar. Go for the NGK iridium plugs and not the OE platinum ones as, the former will last longer and should give a slightly stronger spark due to the smaller centre electrode.jaygtir1 said:
They will come 'pre-gapped' (normally 0.8mm) so, no need to fiddle with them, unless you get a miss fire etc... Then you may want to close them up to around 0.6mm.
As Fast Guy has said, if you're melting plug tips, you'll be running very lean. Get the fuelling checked before you go any further.

Although saying that Allen was running 2 bar on a 3071 with £4 crap NGK grade 8 plugs and all was fine :?youngsyp said:

The only reason to go for a 'colder' plug is to help prevent pre-ignition. With Allen's car being re-mapped, this wouldn't be an issue, providing it was mapped well, of course !
The iridium and platinum plugs will only, at best perform marginally better than a 'normal' plug. And that's only down to the size of the tip.
As it's only the tips of the centre, and in some cases ground electrodes that use these more exotic metals, and the fact that these are used solely to provide greater longevity, over the 'normal' plugs, they shouldn't be seen as a performance part.
