PAR Con Rods again!!!

In middle of rebuilding the engine and was looking a the PAR con rods and noticed they don't seem to have any oil passage ways. On the little end there is one at the top but I seem to remeber the standard Nissan having oil channels in the bearing from it. The bottom end has no channels or passageways and the Sheel bearings show them. Was thinking it will be alright, PAR will have thought about this and engineered it out........

PAR users, I'm sure you get my drift

Before I put the engine back together and the little end seizessnyone any comments. I'm being paranoid now because of PARevious experience

Cheers,
jim.

that does'nt sound very good but nobody's PARfect are they altho u do expect great quality from expensive PARts so PARdon me for being out of line but if they need the oil chanels then thats pretty PARthetic engineering
judging from previous PARts maybe u shud drill em out  these make em yaself PARts kits are fun aye lol

i ordered a manuel from them and got a stick off wood and sum ink

Just got my PAR rods today 8) , They have oil hole's in the piston pin
end but none on the crank end :? .

But the piston pin's fit the the rods ok so I don't know what the rest of
you are on about  and as for weight's of each rod are pretty
good I have 3 that weigh the same ie 670g's the other one is 665g's so
not bad I feel really :D ,The only problem I'v found is that I will have to
have a bit taken off the top of each rod so that they go far enuff into the
piston to get the pin's through if you know what I mean, And thats down
to the piston not the rod.

Oh and they's no way that a CP piston would hit the oil squarter's(sp)
there smaller than a standard piston :D .

You sound like a happy PAR customer :D

They do look good after all. Couple of points. 5g is in tolerance but is not what I would call perfect as to balance you now have to take 5g off all the others. To put it in perspective, my HKS pistons were with in a gram straight from the box and would fit straight onto the standard rods with out any rework. Couldn't say either of those things about PAR.

I would say they are well engineered but not precision engineered like the HKS.

Spose if you have to chop the top off each of them you can just chop a bit more off

I could take it out of the piston I spoes , I haven't done the piston's yet I'll get the scale's out again  and get back to you  .

Every thing has to be balanced up anyway so I have no real problem with
5 g's that what I will be paying the machine shop to do.

Well I've just tried a Tomei pin on the rod and it ain't going in without a bit of persuading from a mallet.

see what did I say tomei are 5hit  .

You should of got some CP's that weigh in at 320 gram's each all four
the same I must say I'm impressed 8) and the pin's all four the
same again at 100 gram's.

So that's 1090 gram's for each piston and rod set + ring's 8) .

What would I want CraP's for  ?

It's so cr@p that it all fit's together  unlike your tomei scrap  .

Tomei pins fit perfectly std conrods...So it would mean that bushing to piston pin clearance would have been way to large if u had used CP pistons on std rods...

Tomei rules. 8) really.
