Oil temperature sensor

When my car came out of the garage from its clucth and MOT, the temp sensor has stopped working.

I tried to find it using the manuals yesterday but couldn't so I did a search on here and know have a much better idea but its too late/darl/cold to check. Was wondering if those who've had them fail found it was a dodgy connection/connector or whether the oil temp sensor itself is a pretty common failure?

Its not urgent but its pretty freaky as I always use it to warm-up and cool down etc.

No one :(

All I was wondering really is whether I should start at the sensor end or dials end.

Don't want to buy a new sensor and then find I need a new set of dials or a wire is fraid.

Any thoughts?

Not heard of too many of them failing, the pressure sender is more common. I'd have a look at the sender end first as the wire may have brokem/fallen off.
