O2 sensor

I had nissan data scan connected to the car today, just to try it out. I noticed the O2 sensor signal was jumping between maximum and minimum readings, i take it the sensor is faulty. Will this cause any running problems the car seems to run fine just now and there are no fault codes.

its not faulty mate, its the sensor telling the ecu whether to make the mixture rich or lean.
because the standard ecu sensor is narrow band (works between 0v and 1v) then the data it can give out is relatively basic.
a wideband sensor operates between 0 and 5v so can transmit a more detailed fuel/air ratio to analyse.
