Launch control to protect the Gearbox!

I was thinking like this.......

To buy this http://bmracing.com/?wpsc-product=launch-control-with-installation-kit Install it to protect the gearbox when launching hard.

So my thinking is like this .......put in 1'st gear, engage the rear brakes with this solenoid, easily letting the clutch until the car start to move so that I know that the gearbox is under tension and then launch.

What are guys thinking about this?

i just don't see the point unless your gonna limit the boost in 1st and 2nd to reduce the torque, but fair play to you for having a go with it, hope it works for you...

its the same as holding the handbrake on scott. its not going to protect the gearbox but it gives you 2 hands ready to launch.

keiron had the button on the gearlever.

well it's not really to save the gearbox then, just to help you hold the car on the line...
