Injector Size

Just about to order some new injectors for my R but what size should I get?
I was thinking of 700cc but the price is the same as the smaller ones. ??

Am I going to have prob with using 700's ?
I'm sure I'll mod the rest of the car over time to use the extra CC's
its running

ND Super Hybrid Turbo (1.2 bat at mo )
ND Front Mounted Intercooler Kit
HSK pistons
Unichip
+ all the normal extra stuff

Also... would I cause major probs if I fit the larger injectors
then drive the car to get it re-mapped about 80 miles away

Thanks

Dave

you will run super rich if you fit the injectors before the ECU is mapped for them.

700cc injectors can support 412bhp @ 85% duty Cycle and 0.55BSFC, ohh and thats a 3bar of fuel pressure

why dont u drive the car where u are going, and change them your self once u get there ? its quite a quick job to change them ?

i would say running 700s with future mods inmind would be a good idea as long as it can be mapped to use them

my old vauxhall engine was running 720s but i was able to map to suit them ,and ran perfect ,i knew i would never have to upgrade to lager ones

So what BHP are Sard 700cc injectors good for?

Whats the next increase after them... SARD 1000cc?

can a unichip suppoort larger injectors? and what bhp and lbft figures have u got at moment? are your standard injectors maxed out?

Yer, I guess the unichip can be re-mapped for them( HOPE SO !!! )

My standard ones are maxed out, had to lower boost at 5000rpm+ to under 1.2bar.

Was around 290 last time at power station, I've since swapped the MAF and O2 sensor as the old ones were ill

I'll stick in another fuel pump to replace the ND one if it’s still not getting enough fuel

ive got a unichip too and im in a similar position to u and want to replace my injectors but im pretty sure the unichip cant support bigger injectors does anyone know if it can? it cant support a bigger maf that i do know as i asked powerstation. If it cant support bigger injectors will an adjustable fuel pressure regulator help?

an adjustable fuel pressure regulator can help by effectivly increasing the flow rating of the injectors.

The standard injectors are 444cc's @ 3bar

@ 4bar they act as 515cc injectors.

550cc injectors act like 638cc injectors @ 4bar

600cc injectors act like 696cc injectors @ 4bar

700cc injectors act like 812cc injectors @ 4bar

Norris told me that the 700cc have a range of 350 -550bhp with a decent fuel controller.

After looking at the customers cars on ND's page some have 700cc with the unichip installed, but I know they use interpto to set the mapping,
and power station map the unichip in a diffrent way, using the standard boost sensor as a MAP.

Anyone else changed the injectors and had a car with unichip mapped at powerstation ?

Try and use as small an injector as possible. Large inectors don't atomise very well, especially at low rpm and because the petrol droplets are large they tend to hit the walls and drop out of suspension ( and dribble down the inside :D ). I'd up the fuel pressure first and only use bigger inectors if it was absolutely necessary. Small injectors give a finer mist which mixes easier with air.

the unichip CAN be mapped for larger injectors.

what bhp will 4 bar on standard injectors(515cc) support?

where did u get this infomation from? coz ive phoned hiteq and power station and they both said that it can support bigger injectors and a bigger maf but it will run crap. They suggested if i wanted to run these to get an apexi power fc.

Ahh, If thats true then, looks like i'll be selling my unichip soon,
What sort of price is the power FC ? Around 800 quid ?

Just had this info from powerstation
---------------
Increasing the size of injectors is too much for a Unichip to manage as all
the other parameters like cold start, warm up enrichment etc etc are
affected.
With this level of modification you would require a complete replacement ECU
