Checked my OE boost gauge and it sits at around 0.55 mm Hg at idle, when warm, with an idle speed of between 925 and 950 rpm.

Covered 130 miles with the new filter fitted. It's a good improvement as the car feels crisper, comes on boost stronger and engine breaking even feels better.
Nothing to do with performance but the BOV has taken on a few more notes and the induction noise through the filter is nice.
My OE boost gauge sits at .60 mm Hg at idle when warm. 1000rpm.
 
surely if the vacume is stronger when you put on a new filter then it indicates the new filter is MORE restrictive?
The engine is obviously having to suck harder (stronger vacume) to get the air it needs?
With a filter with less resistance, the engine doesnt have to suck as much?

Maybe somebody can stick a bag over their filter and note changes on vacuum/boost gauge. I'd do it but my cars in bits... :roll:
