How To Strip side mirrors

Hi all, has anyone stripped the side mirrors, I want to have them resprayed and was keen to know if there is a trick to getting the electric motor and the insert out of the mirror casing?

That is exactly what I was looking for! Thought it might be a case of getting the mirror off,but was afraid I'd bust the mirror, thanks again
