how to get rid off some of the whinning on gearbox/transferbox??

Is there an oil thats thicker or somthing to help prevent gearbox noise?

yep sawdust or grease does the trick nicely;-)










































joking aside, if its noisy then its noisy because theres wear somewhere, bearings, crown wheel or whatever.
you can by additives or use shockproof oil but there all really a waste of money as they are only disguising the noise

is it a standard gearbox or has the gearbox been upgraded with a Quaife etc. gearset ?

like bob has stated a pinch of 'pine' saw dust will solve your problem, we only use 'pine' dust as most other species will kill your rabbit

Hi steve havent got a clue i think it is a standard one not sure

Sam, ignore the village idiots..............a quaife box normally wines in all gears apart from 5th and if the standard box whines at all it's usually only in first/second gear
