About every 3000 miles or so. I have been told it's overkill, but it can't hurt.

if my car is just being used on the road i change oil/filter every 1000 miles
if its going on a trackday then it gets changed before it goes onto the track
then when it gets back home it will be changed again to check for any contamination and shiney bits :shock: touch wood in the 9 trackdays shes done not once has she let me down
