Front springs free length?

I'm dismantling a pair of GtiR front struts and wondered what is the free length of the stock springs?
I've got one of the springs off and it seems like there's a lot of tension in it, even after undoing the compressors a fair way.

Solved

compressed length is about 10", free length is 15" as I discovered!

The GtiR springs are now on my Rasheen and it sits alarmingly high as a result. Hope it 'settles' after a while.
