Hi,

I went to Trax yesterday and came home with a nice Forge front mount kit.

Can any of you guys recomed a decent/cheap place in the South (preferably Dorset) to get it fitted and to get a rolling road tune up done?

Thanx

How'm I ever gonna get one through the group buy if you all buy else where?[B)][:p] How much was it? Through Forge or someone else?

Take it to Powerstation in Cheltenham because they have a rolling road on the premises and they have experience of fitting the Forge kit, plus they are the closest to you (150 miles). However, bear in mind that its going to take them 4 or 5 hours so the labour charge will be quite high ! Its something you should be able to attempt by yourself !

It cost me 550 quid for the whole kit, which I thought was a bargain.

Well I'm gonna phone up Powerstation now and find out how much they're gonna charge. I'm thinking it's gonna cost a bomb though!

Is it a DIY job then or will it involve a lot of work?

I could do with a set of instructions really!!

£550 feck that's good. Who did you get it from? New?
It should be a diy job if you're competent with your hands and tools.

you should have got a set of instructions with it if it came from Forge ! ......i assume you didnt get it from them then ? If youve got no instructions, then probably get Powerstation to do it.

defo have a go at it yourself.. its not hard. just takes a load of time.
take the bumper off and maybe the rad.. pew pipes, loads of clips..
take the old ic off and its frame.. bingo :)

might want to get a plug cover to stop rain etc getting on your plugs.. this IS a problem.. just a sheet of alu would do it..

Ello chaps,
Probably shouldn't say this but when i got mine fitted to be honest i felt my car was no quicker than standard... It had cost me about 1k  ..
Unless your running big boost i think it's pointless :?
Sorry to be so blunt but as i tell the ladies; honesty is the best policy!
Cheers,
Sam

while on the move the coling shouldnt be too bad on the standard intercooler anyway. its only an anti heat soak measure. if you start to play with boost etc, then it really comes into its own. reducing your chance of det!

just he cooler wont make the car faster on the move i dont think. its just after a long balst and then 10 min in a traffic jam that it will help.

It depends on what set up you have to start with. If you're standard everything and just put a front mount on (like me) then you shouldn't realy notice anything. If you're already running higher boost, then you might well gain abit of power and feel faster as the standard intercooler will have been designed to work with standard boost levels, above these levels its efficiency will start to drop off.
