Fitting an Alternator...

My new alternator arrives today... Just need to know if its an easy enough job to do myself...?

Not to bad as long as the pivot (long bolt) hasnt corroded in give it a spray with something like WD40 and let it soak in.

I did mine, Just dropped the radiator out and its easy to do it.

Get a quote for someone else to fit it

if its cheap enough save yourself some blood loss but if its expensvie then save yourself some readys and do it yourself

A new alternator is.... Wait for it...............

£330 + VAT!!!... :shock: :shock: :shock:

Tried doing it myself a while back but the bolts were on sold an I couldn't get them undone from lying under the car... Took it to the local garage who took about an hour to get it done...

rsnissan, memski and nabsq did nabsq's car, i would have helped but had a slight problem with my hands, lol :? . wasnt hard to do, just fidgety, make sure u soak the parts in some wd40. :lol:

The Sunny one won't fit!...

Getting the old one re-conditioned it the way to go... Costs anywhere between £30 - £120 to get done...

I cheated tho... I got one off Hiteq for £40...

Oh well, i was gonna say you could buy my one off me cos i paid the 330 for a new one, and as memski says "it looks very bling-bling". But my old one is currently being sent to an alternator specialist to recon my old one, if anyone interested.

Oh and mike yes I am sorry didnt tell u but you know how desperate i was to get it all done before parents returned.

Anyway i have plenty of jobs for u still.
