distributor help

ive had to replace mine and now i have no idea where to set it for the ignition. where are the marks on the crank and what advance should it be set to

set it to the centre on the top bolt, and see how it runs, someone told me the ECU will do the rest but if it doesnt feel right then a local garage can check it with a strobe.

2nd mark from the left is tdc on the cs pulley
set ignition on strobe to 20 degrees (assuming you have degree setting on gun)

I just used a screw driver on the piston to find TDC ;-) :lol: .

nothing wrong with that robbie, but its only a rough guide, you can be quite a few degrees out in between piston on upward and downward stroke if you know what i mean! but its ok as a rough guide!

No not really ;-) , The dizzy can only go in one way so you don't really need to be spot on, The guys mapping the car will set it up properly with a strobe when they get their hands on it at the end of the month ;-) .

Oh and I marked the dizzy before taking it out and it went in spot on the same marks so can't be far wrong ;-) .

Naa, Rob's had his cams changed so his timing will be out :der:



Don't forget to disconnect the TPS whist doing the timing.
