most people use ngk bcr8 es (sure thats the number) seem to work well right from standard to big bhp. i have paid fortunes for denso irridium etc in the past and there no where near as good

These plugs are double platinum and the equivalent iridium plug is the ngk heat range 7 plugs. I am running 1 bar. But i heard that these are just as good. Im not sure.

Why not save yourself some money and buy a set of BCR8ES copper cores for the same price as one of the fancy platinum ones?
 
I understand, but my mates got them lying around. Given them to me for free. Are they ok for a gtir at 1 bar? Wont have any problems with them will i? The car is lightly modified.

If they are free and in the right heat range, then use them; they will be fine.
