Just a quick question, can you change the rod bearings going in through the sump? I know you can on most cars i am just hoping this one is the same :)

dont suppose anyone has a “how too”?

yep you can

remove front downpipe from turbo housing
remove both of the sumps ally and metal bit
make sure you remove all the bolts under the metal part of sump that hold the ally bit on, and the 2 small 10mm nuts behind the small rear cover plate
remove 2x baffle plates (10mm bolts)
remove main bearing cover plate (17mm bolts)

then you have access to all the bigend caps and shells
turn crank and do 1 & 3 then 2 & 4 when they are at the bottom.
torque them up correctly and lubricate shells with heavy oil when fitting them.
clean out the oil strainer whilst its off.

once you have fitted them, turn crank over 2 revolutions and make sure there are no tight spots.
if crank is scored or ovalled dont even bother wasting your money by fitting them;-)

when refitting make sure you use good sealant around sump as there is no gasket!
bolts are also different lenghs so make sure you get right bolts in right holes
