CAT temp sensor

cat temp sensor
does anyone know if i should get any fault codes as i damaged the temp sensor in the cat when i put the decat on so i cut the sensor off and taped over the wire
the only fault code im getting is 34 which im told is knock seems strange

most people tuck them out the way when they fit de-cat pipe. mines never come up with fult codes, a case of; if the probe aint there, theres no fault for it to detect.
