Boost Controllers

Hi Everyone

I currently have a blitz boost controller, apparantly this is quite old and is causing boost spikes? Ive also been told the relay is giving up the ghost.

What do i need to look for in a boost controller and what makes one better than others?

These are currently a few i am looking at :

wohoo there expensive,
sometimes they pop up on here or otherwise second hand units around ebay are ok, Pobody will come on and moan about how his went faulty and a bleed valve is just as good if your not running that much extra boost wich is also correct, but I have had mine who I brought of "empty pockets" and they have been good for nearly a year, also my cousin brought a second hand set of ebay and they were fine,

apexi avcr are also a good boost controller but are very explensive even second hand now,
I have the http://www.blitz-uk.co.uk/ProductItem-317.aspx
quiet a nice little interface and have it built into the dash (thanks russ :) )

it all just depends on what you want realy, simple jobs that you just want to program and forget or something more like those above, I would just way up what you want to spend for electricals :)

well i should be running a max of 1.8/1.5 bar,

at the moment if i run any more than 1.2 it surges also if it boosts quick up the revs (say 1st or 2nd gear the boost sticks and wont increase.

I have the Greddy E-01.Its quite expensive but has some nice features such as different boost levels for different rpms(to maintain stable boost) the ability to display 3 sets of information such as boost, a/f and exhaust temp at the same time and can have warning levels set for each which will trigger an alarm and can drop boost back to a safe level. It has 3 boost settings- wastegate, boost 1 and boost 2 and an overtake boost facility. As with most controllers you can also increase the gain for faster spoolup.
