A metal kind of noise???

When Looking at the Engine from the front I Can here Metal tapping sort of noise and it comes from the left towards the bottom of the block, any 1 ever had this sort of problem?

Internal or external? stationary or moving?

The pulleys are external in that area, air
con, alternator or ps pumps?, or the oil pump and main/big end bearings (no1 cyl) are internal in that area.

It's abit of a vague description to realy say much. :?

I can here when im stationary if that helps, Iv looked throgh the reciepts and it looks as though some1 has fitted a new water pump soemtime in the start of 2004. When starting from cold the top end rattles slightly until the oil gets there is that normal too.

Thats put my mind at rest for the start up cheers, but it does that metal tapping noise only when Im stationary, I suppose i cant here it when im going along because of the exhaust, I might get it up on the ramp and listen underneath.

its the SR chain its always noisy :lol:

You might have a noisey tappet.

Thanks guys, I looked on ur website but it said its under construction. Just curious about something, how long does the SR Chain Last, or whats the book life of it before its recomended change?
