i bought a det sensor if i get it put in do i have to do anything else?
1 get it tuned on the rollers
2 re-set the ecu by sorting it with a paper clip

or anything else
that will need doing when sensor is put in

is there a certain way it has to go on

Just clear the old fault codes after you've fitted it
Before actually fitting it it would be best to check the wiring from the ecu to the det sensor incase its just a dodgy connection or broken wire etc

As far as i know you dont even need to clear the fault codes, the car will still run right, but will keep the old codes in the memory (i could be wrong though)
It depends who's doing the sensor for you, if it's not going to cost much, or you are doing it yourself, then just change the sensor, but if its going to cost a bit, i'd get it rewired back to the ecu as well, at least you know its definatley going to be ok then (i didnt do it that way, and ended up having to pay for the sensor to be replaced, and then later, for it to be rewired)
