Oil spotting after 'enthusiastic' driving.

I've been running the R at a few autosolos and have recently noticed a little oil spotting under the car after each run recently. The side its on makes me think its maybe coming from the breather system, and the nature of the event (Lots of vigorous cornering and sliding it about on power in 2nd). I've only noticed this at the event, not after normal driving and there's nothing on the garage floor, and nothing even particularly obvious on the underside...

Any thoughts?

Seems plausible to me; especially if you've been pushing hard, there'd be more oil mist,

What's you current set-up? Catch can or OEM perhaps?

i have a modified breather that should really be connected to a catch-can. Mine also drips a bit from there on the near side. Oil drops onto the gear box and runs underneath and of course, onto the garage floor after a spirited drive. Similar?

Sounds very similar. It's all OEM at the moment. Looking down over the top of the gearbox, seems to be a little oil on top, and the cable loom above it looks like there's oil on it which makes me think its coming from reasonably high up.

Yeah, that's exactly like mine. Only difference is mine has a breather on the breather pipe ( if you catch my drift ) like an after market induction filter. That weeps the oil onto my gear box and yes, onto part of the loom which, when i look down, i can see an oily reflection. If i had it connected to a catch can, i think i'd have to empty it every few months. A decent amount of blow by there.

It does sound like blow by. Maybe the breather system is bit clogged up. It would be interesting to measure via catch can or something the amount of blow by

No, not for me. It's just the usual factors, high pressure, oil not being burnt off quick enough and here we are. Blow by. Or at least for me anyway. Nature of the beast for early Jap modified cars.

Is it coming out of the gearbox breather if it's on the gearbox?

Well took the tmic off today to try to work out where this oil was coming from. Everything dry, except the intercooler itself which has a film of oil inside. Not like pools of it - just a coating. None the wiser where the oil is releasing from breather system looked and felt dry on the outside, didn't strip it down. Baffled...

Blow by or turbo is on its last legs...

Check the turbo, but seeing if the shaft/blades move around if you wiggle them...
