Oil Temp Gauge - help needed plz!

When I brought me R, the guy I got it off
told me that oil temp gauge (the one on the 3 gauges) takes
time to move

He gave me a small part (sensor), and told me that if i get it fitted
it will sort the problem out

I have uploaded pictures of the sensor here:

Anyway, i am far from a mechanic

I'll be really grateful if some could explain to me where it needs to go!

Also anotha question, wat level should the other gauge be at (the middle
one, which shows the oil level)

And also I did use the search function to try to find the answer, but cudn't
find nuthin

middle gauge shows oil pressure. Should shoot up to past 4bar on start up from cold, settle at around 2bar once warm at idle.

does the oil temp gauge register any temp after its warm? all cars take a while to warm the oil up.

thats what i was going to say it looks like a water temp switch plus the 3 gauge in the middle are electronic and dont run off switch like that or am i wrong there ???
