i picked up a load of mikalor jubilee clips and they are holding 2 bar on my car with no problems there not as heavy as the big nut clamps but are stronger than the normal clips we get over here
i had the same trouble with the mikalor nut clamps like you said though

There is a nut and bolt shop near me that sells full stainless proper 'jubilee' clips, im sure these are good enough for most applications.

the mikilor clamps are only as good as the person buying them!

most people buy the WRONG size clamp and just crank them up which makes the clamp turn into a oval shape rather then a circle which they should be. this obviously creates a leak.

these clamps are designed for plumbing in high pressure situations.
