HELP! engine light? de cat pipe?

hi, ive just bought a pulsar
BUT its got a full s/s exhaust system on, and de cat pipe! the light on the dash is on- think its engine management light, but ive been told this is because there is no CAT? is this right- also i dont think the boost is coming in at the right revs- about 4000 it really starts to pull u back!
any ideas?

If it is the engine light, you'll need to do a fault code check to find out what it is.

There is a light for the cat temp sensor, but I'm under the impression you can disconnect this with no side effects. Just make sure it's tied out of the way and insulated against making any electrical contacts.

Its the de-cat pipe light.
if i leave the car running for about 10 mins, and dont move- the car goes in to limp mode- and i have to turn engine off, then its fine again!
also i dont think it is puling aswell as it should it doesn't push you back into the seat till about 4000 rpm? is this right?
