Engine oil

Hey guys,

I know this has probably been mentioned before but i searched and had a sift throught he first few pages but it did not answer any questions or and information i needed.

Is 5w40 an exceptable oil for the R? We are coming on summer here and i want something thats going to cope with heat.

Ive been using 10W40 but a mate got some respol 5w40 and i thought id give it a go.

Good or bad?

Ok i had a read of that thread, interesting but i thought id just clear something up.

5w40, the 5 being the viscoscity at cold? and the 40 when at operating temp?

i have read that silkolene 10w50 is best to put in

i think it depends on how u drive it and in what weather conditions etc i have to drive mine in all weathers

10-60 or 15-50 is all ill use
tried lots on different R engines and the thinner stuff just seems to blow from DV's and stuff like that
