clunk noise when selecting gearbox - advice?

gear box makes a clunk noise when changing gear - all gears - possible problems?

gearbox on way out? has been rebuilt 2 years ago - covered about 20k miles...

car runs fine though - no problem when driving - just makes a clunk noise when changing gear - even when not running and going through gears

check make sure theres oil in the box

its a clunk noise when changing gear - but the gear stick isnt smooth like before - it clunks and u can feel it through the gearnob when u change gear -

This is the same problem as mine. Had Ian @ Hi Teq open up my box and it was fooked!! I've had new selector folks, bork rings and a few other bits and bobs.

Sounds like your box needs a rebuild.

check all your engine mounts

just got it fixed - cost me £20
was the gearbox mount and also a washer/rod link of something like that - there was another gti-r box at the garage so the parts were free kinda -

very happy!
