Had a nice police man point out to me this morning on the way to work that my front number plate 27cm :p was just below standard regulations... bla bla. after a nice chat.. (coont) asking how much my insurance was and taking the ruler to every gap in the front plate he gave me a yellow slip, which i thought he said send this away and get £30 back... but turns out i have to send £30 off and get f00k all back.

So headed to get my new front number plate... and just wanted to share it with you all... (Y)

The other thing is I thought I'd read somewhere that small numberplates (bike size) on the front of an import R is allowed - have to try and dig it out.

The 'R cannot accomodate a standard size front plate in the factory mounts, as the bumper is recessed for 330mm width Jap plates - so you can use the concessionary smaller characters (44mm width x 64mm height x 10mm stroke).

If you mount the plate elsewhere, the concession doesn't apply - so you're stuck with the new standard sized characters (50mm width x 79mm height x 14mm stroke).

In either case, you should use the specified typeface.

Got stopped on Tues/Thurs by a Police Pug 306 and they made some snide comment about my number plate if it gets any smaller they won't be able to see it  but said they did not care because they are not traffic Police :)

Got stopped Saturday night by a New Police Volvo T6 and he gave me a £30 on the spot fine, I told him about the DVLA rules and that I had them printed out  he then asked me to show him the print out which I did and he stated that I could easily fit a standard size plate on the front of my car to which I asked where......................as I have a Forge front mount which is unmeshed and he said on the intercooler or just above it on the lip of the bumper

He said if you want to argue it out take it to court as he would enjoy the day out

He then got out a hand held camera and took a picture of my plate just incase I do go to court :?

What do you reckon lads..................pay  or go to court with a solicitor and fight it out  (Its only £30 FFS)
