not looking good for me chaps:sad: my 3071 is still sitting in its box unfitted, as are my injectors and z32 afm, along with loads of other bits, and mapping still needs doing!
this last week has been a nightmare, havent had time to do anything to the car, and i wont next week either:roll:

so looks like il have to take a standard car up with me, to this trackday, with standard brakes and boost:doh: i may just invest in some red stuff pads for it, and put some 5.1 fluid to help stop it from suffering brake fade too badly!

really wanted to use this as a test day for my track weapon, but its not gonna happen:sad:

oh well, at least you lot may not be too far behind me now:lol:

Why don't you just use the standard turbo, injectors, MAF ECU?

I'm taking some time off work to finish mine off, there's a few things I need to do (rear diff, rear bushes, mapping) and a few things I want to do. I'm not getting the time to touch the car at the mo.

Least I'm not a quitter though ;-)

standard turbo is shagged, car has only covered 90 miles since rebuild, and i didnt really want to put another standard turbo on it just to do trackday!

also i think the car still needs mapping even as it is, after all the engine work ive done, as its a lot quicker than it was before.
i just wouldnt be very happy if i blew the engine because of me being impatient.

im not quitting though jim, i will still have an R of one description or another on the track, just not the one i really wanted to bring:sad:

Been to Pipewerx today...

Cars sounding more aggressive and spool up time it around 300-400rpm more, good service and friendly guys. Worth the £££'s.

Just got to strip the car and sort out a few niggles and I’ll be ready!

Shame your not going to get your car sorted, I was looking forward to seeing your car in action Boby

Andy, glad it worked out for you, looks like a nice job, it is surprising the difference it makes.

Yeah I was... :-D

On another note: as I made my way home I built up speed and joined the motorway only to hear a deep "thud" from the rear.

Thinking nothing of it I carried on only to be waved by a car full of lads making symbols as if they were honking a horn and pointing to the rear of my car.
Then making puffed cheeks and what I can only describe as "big fish little fish" hand signals towards me - at that point I figured that I’d pushed out a flame from the back of my exhaust...

appreciate help jim, but trouble is, your up there and im down here in grotty essex! so im stuffed really:sad:
this coming week is going to be very busy for me as ive got an engine and box to remove from an R, as well as loads of other bits that people are after! and ive still got the mechanics business to run aswell. and still got stuff to move into my new workshop:sad: just gone completely mad, the last 3 weeks!

on top of that i bought a trailer that is to small to take a gtir, off ebay 'the guy gave me false measurements' so i need to make a few alterations to that!

think il just go to sleep, and hope the fairies come in the night and fix everything for me:lol:

not long now chaps!
bet your all making final adjustments today, ready to give your babies a damned good thrashing next weekend8)

still havent touched the car im taking:doh: gonna set a day aside this week to put some redstuff padson it with 5.1 fluid, take the seat and harness from my car and fit that in, and give it a good service, so hopefully it will all be ok on the day (but will have crap brakes)

how many off this site are going?
so far i know we have
myself
jim
andy
stumo
any more? and are there any coming to watch?

im bringing some parts up for people (in back of van) who live up that way, (sort of) so if any ones coming to watch, and need anything, let me know and il put it in back of van with other bits i have.

my van is also a fully kitted out workshop, so if anyone needs to borrow tools, jacks, compressor, etc, well its all there, i have a generator fitted aswell so we also have power, as there are no pit garages at cadwell;-)

wish i was taking my racecar, but will have to make do with a standard, ish one for time being!
hopefully it will be snowing or raining, this will level things up a little to all of you's who are running high bhp:twisted:
im starting to get excited now, and am looking forward to meeting you's and having a couple of beers and a bit of grub in the hotel!
bring it on:thumbsup:

Bobby sounds like you've got a hell of a portable worshop there.

Dan will be coming with Stu still but they're only bringing one car.

Will my car be ready for Saturday... well I've nearly finished my 1.6Bar map which is running nicely. I'll need to tidy it up on Thursday as out of the country again in 2 hours. Stu's giving me a hand swapping my rear diff and bushes Thursday night as the diff won't be back until then. So at the moment, just getting to the track, round it and home again will be a roaring success.

I'm planning on taking my video camera to record the highs and lows of the day.

Sounds like you’ve got the full works it that van Boby! :)

I have to admit, I’m becoming more excited about next weekend. It should be a good combination of cars and power bands.

I’ve spent a bit of time this weekend sorting out the car, making sure that all my levels are topped up and other areas are prepped for next weekend.
One thing that I’m still waiting for is my dam brake pads! It’s been over 4 weeks now and I’m starting to wonder if I’m ever going to get them?

“Yes there going to be here tomorrow, now the end of the week, they’ll be here Monday morning….” So it’s looking to be a quick bedding in session!

I’ll be bringing my (photo) camera with me to grab some shots of the day.

Looking forwards to meeting everyone!

Im coming, not staying in the hotel though, me and stu will be using my car.

Found a CV joint has gone on mine so thats getting done this week and iv done everything i wanted to do to the car so all is good. Played about with the camber, tracking and ride height, it had new oil around 1000 miles ago. Im all set.

I might be bringing a trailer, wont know till wednesday but if not im just going to drive up on the saturday morning anyway with a few friends from uni.

Iv just taken up photography so will bring my slr and am hoping to get some good piccys on the day of everyone on track, so if they turn out well il be able to send them to you all.

il be towing car on trailer, just in case something un toward happens to it!
ive only driven this car once, and that was when i bought it, just before christmas, so its a bit of an unknown quantity:doh: i will give it a real good going over one day this week, and hopefully it will all be ok

...they turned up today

Just spent around 4½ hours installing my brake pads, something that should have taken no time at all took ages.
Ended up having to strip my callipers as for some reason the pistons were not going to budge and gave them a quick "seeing to" (this included a whollop from a hammer). After that I ended up changing all the brake fluid, an oil flush and change (inc filter).

All in all a eventful 4½ hours

NOW i'm ready to go...

think il be trailing behind jim, in the pile of crap im bringing lol
cant even select gear above 3k rpm as clutch is mullered on it! will have to shortshift with no clutch, have to start it in gear and let it roll as wont go into first or reverse with engine running:roll:
think the ends are knocking aswell as you come off throttle, so i may have an early retirement, will be fun to see how long it lasts though:lol:

 why oh why could i not find the time to get my own car sorted
i have however took the bucket seat and harness out of my car (but why i dont know)l:lol:

i will have fun anyway, even if car does completely fall apart:oops:
