Still waiting on some shims!
Probably not mate...

We will need to see what comes from the new rules aswell..

If we were ever going to get 10 cars in this you really need some 550 - 700bhp+ for the top speed and drag and then the 400bhp - 500bhp Circuit setup cars..

I would hope thats its possible to achieve this.. Would also be nice to get a shootout like last time.. Then just make sure no one breaks anything before TOTB, which could prove difficult with some people running in the Time Attack as well

well we might as well be racing with Poo sticks if we cant sort something for the gear boxes:doh: is anyone selling those braces? iirc Si cracked his casing at the other end with his old box and the plate fitted but in all fairness he does launch really ****ing hard:lol: and his os clutch has no give whatsoever. Allens got some good theories about getting an r off the line in one piece.....

Re Si's launch, yeah very hard, maybe too hard but least he's trying... hope he doesn't mind me showing this very short clip when he broke it last weekend, but it definately "scoobed" hard off the line before it broke.....

RE next years totb, I think we need to step back and think about what we want to achieve from such an event. Yes it depends on the rules, and I say it every year but I really want to see a clear private class within 4wd and that would help us far more.

We are never going to win, or even compete for the team event due to the lack of R+D and money spent compared to other marques, but surely we want consistant times on both handling and drag comparable with some well know fast cars and get people to actually notice the R and that it can be a decent all round car. I have all 5 DVD's that are out on TOTB and the R virtually gets Fook all mentioned other than in the extras.

I have no doubt both clubs would be asked to run together again with Chris Mann just looking at the poor entry of 2 this year, I think we need at least 5 sorted 400bhp's for the handling.... and there's enough now that just need the suspension and setups tweeking to be put down as runners (maybe shootouts for them to prove they are getting the most in handling setup out of their power) and then the rest of the places for fast drag runs and really big project cars. Top speed is a waste of time.

Wish my misses would let me spend money on my R and I would plan now...:(

im no trackday expert but would it be fair to compare the totb handling course to a smaller karting circut?? only asking because if yes then they would probably be the best places to practice and have shootouts if its possible to use them....

lol now the bits of the end case are looking at the inside of my glove box,

its all good saying we need big power cars for the strip, but its no good having loads of power if you cant use it. mo has around 450ish and hes ran into the 10,s and as a few people know at my last rolling road run at surrey before the hks series i was only putting out just over 400bhp and i ran a 11.22 at 125mph.

next year should be good, im trying to build the car so it can be driven hard without things giving up the ghost, there is no point in taking part in any form of motorsport if you have to hold back with the car. This could be why nissan gave up on the R in the first place, which makes us all mad,,,, but i injoy the engineering challange.

A few points from this years TOTB to show just how competetive it is:

A 10.91 sec quarter would get you 25th place = 0 points
A 10.37 sec quarter would get you 10th place = 1 point

A 39.99 sec on the handling circuit would get you 29th place = 0 points
A 38.17 sec on the handling circuit would get you 10th place = 1 point

A top speed run of 170 mph would get you 21st place = 0 points
A top speed run of 185 mph would get you 10th place = 1 point

Simon Norris came 19th on the handling course with a 38.93 sec time. (Time Attack car)
Andy Forrest came 20th with a 39.35 sec time.
Clive Seddon came 24th with a 39.79 sec time. (Time Attack car)

To score even 1 point for a gtir would've been a great achievement!

If thats the way they score it then its pretty much a certainty that we'd end up with no points.............................so why bother entering?

Don’t get me wrong, but someone that has all the gear and no-idea, what’s the point of having them compete in TOTB? Look at Si Norris, hoards of bhp, but can’t tame the thing for shít.

I’m all for powerful and well set-up GTiR’s to run in TOTB, but perhaps we should have some sort of GTiR time attack and see if these people have what it takes to be competitive? It’s all well having all the suspension gear to compete, but if that person can’t drive for crap why bother them competing when we might have someone else that’s a better driver with less of a spec, but out performs someone with more aftermarket products?

Also just to be clear I’m not saying that anyone that as competed for Team GTiR is crap, it’s just my personnel view on how I look at it. ;)
