Eh, was there any car there that DIDN'T overtake him?

Maybe if he could find the extra 0.4bhp he might have done better.

Did no one else have a go?

No mate they all stood in the stands like the keyboard worrier's they are  .

I'm not bothered what you lot think anyway because I had fun doing it, My car is not some stripped out track special like these guy's where driving or indeed some £50 piece of junk Audi that I don't give a f*ck about   .

They also didn't say anything about the corsa and nova's running turbo's and the pugs being M16 conversions  , Also I've never been on that track in my life not even on the play station, and I've not been on any track in over 2 years so I'm quite happy to of kept it on the track and in one piece  .

Oh and everybody that I have spoken to that actually knows knock hill have told me that I was mad to go in with those hot hatch nutter's in the first place, And should of stuck with the road legal group.

So have your laugh on me fella's, And come back to me when you've been out there with them lot ;-) .

Classic, he was only saying to me the day after he had his car remapped and suspension set up properly how much better the car performed, to quote

"it's transformed, it's like a different car"

but you know what it is don't ya, its becuase his car is pineing for the Protech manifold (that doesn't fit properly), that would have made all the difference,

"they wouldn't hve known what hit them if that manifold had been fitted"

but the camera don't lie, all we heard was

"whats he doing.. .......I don't know...........Something doesn't look right !!!!"

"he been overtaken by an Audi"

"Well, I suppose he does have the added weight"

Well one things for sure he has provided us all with a little video entertainment

Well done for having a go though mate you did better than I would have (cos I wouldn't have done it) and hurry up and get that manifold on

Still need to watch the vid but I was in the car at the time. The guys in the other cars where no holds barred, they didn't car if your car was worth somthing and theres wasn't.

It would have been better to go round with the other road legal cars as he would have had a bit of a chance. There was only 1 car that didn't pass him and that was a Ford Mondeo (Had loads of stupid stickers on it and a tow bar, it was also that drivers first time round the track)

Also there was no other R's from the stand that went on so all credit to Rob but I f i was out there I dare say i would have showed him up as well

I started racing nearly 20 years ago and was amazed just how fast you had to drive to just be competative, belive me its not as easy as it looks. There is a massive difference to driving on the road and if i drove the car on the road like when I use it in competition I would be banned in the first couple of minutes.
There is also a huge difference in suspension settings for road and track and what feels great on the road is usually crap when on a track.
Plus it was his first time, but at least he did go out and have a go.
I only have around 300bhp in my car and beat 4 Subarus in a Sprint the other weekend but I have a lot of experience to fall back on plus I spent a long time setting the car up as I like it. It all takes time and money to get right.
I am also on the large size so could loose some weight of me and the car,,which is my plan for the comming year. Keep on doing it Thunder as I am sure you will get quicker every time yo go out plus the main thing is you enjoy it.
I must admit I Sprint and Hillclimb mine so I race alone on the track so would hate going around with some of them lunatics..
Best of luck and keep at it.

Thanks Phil.

I agree with you about susp setting's, I find my coil over way to hard for the road but they could of done with being even harder on the track yesterday, I suppose If I'd gone on with the road legal open pit group I could of kept coming in and playing around with the shock settings.

But I'm really looking forward to my next go, I think a quicker spooling turbo would be a good option as well, So maybe after I've done a bit of dragging with it I may change it for a 3071R , My next turbo is going to need a lot of thought because I want 500bhp but also need it to spool as quick as pos lol lol.

Rob

Ps it also quite funny how its the people that just stand and watch other's that are taking the pi55, And the people that actually go out there and have ago, Will give you advice and encouragement ....... Its a funny old world lol.

What Turbo have you got now? As getting 500bhp and quick responce will be a challenge but interesting.
I will probably never go for very high power as its responce I need and torque plus it has to me very managable as some tracks are only 13ft wide and very twisty, so will be tuning the engine differently than the drag races. I also have to use road tyres in my class and 500bhp+ on them on a tight track is a recipe for disaster. Seen cars in the past try to use more and its to much for the tyres. The only way to use that power is to run in the modified class and run slicks.
Good luck will be interesting to see how you get on.
Cheers
