silencer..

does anyone run the mongoose silencer (decat replacment) ?? am looking to buy one £100 new crazyy
how much diff is it sound wise? sounds like a fart atm.
anyone know wher i can get a silencer made custom cheaper?

Yeah, they silenced it by having it cut-up and either silencers or a big back box welded in. - That's your best bet; go to an exhaust builder and ask what they could put in it for you.

The silenced decat makes a bit of difference over a straight-though pipe, but not a helluva lot. It's maybe a couple of dB at the most.

if your using a 3 inch tip mongoose it will make it slightly quieter, but if your using the 5 inch it will still be a loud exhaust even with the silenced decat

well when i fitted the mongoose silenced decat i noticed it was a bit quieter when idling, and quieter driving off boost

i have a powerflow rear silencer with quad exits if your interested? make me on offer, it will be off the car tomorrow

when u say weld another back box on is there room down ther so it sits propley?

It will fit in the place where the original one was it will just need to exit on the left looking at the car from the back .

I put a hks dragger silencer off an evo on my goose,looks bloody terrible lol as it exits at a funny angle on the other side of the car due to its size,does the job though i spose.

I had this before i got my custom 3inch exhaust fitted. Alot quieter than a goose. silinced decat with a jasma box at the rear to take away the typical goose drone

JASMA is the Japanese Automotive Muffler Association - So a JASMA marking shows that says it passes the Japanese environmental noise pollution regulations, which has to be quieter than a Mongoose. ;-)

lol - I noticed that spark plug too.

There's also a second silencer in that system further down.

just debating now on what to do got two options... two silencers (small) exit Right side or one back box big exit left
thing is my bumper is cut on left
am guesin your 2nd silncr further down was the decat right? also do silencers affect performace or do amount of pipe bends?
does yours scrape the road at any point?

i cant find these boxes anywhere are they custom...who sells the big back box i might go for it

i dont want to buy a universal one becacuse it wont sit neat or look right..but cant seem to find R specific

some say racing muffler helps performance so will a normal degrade the power guys?

dont want to order the wrong one

Go to an exhaust builder, should be about £150 for them to fit a decent sized back box which ever side you want it.
