11.5’s at 139 mph WOW   . That’s a bloody high mph   for that time. Recently I saw a 700 hp(roughly) rear wheel drive turbo charge BMW M coupe which was wheel spinning to almost half track and even then it only got to 135 mph at 11.3. Just read your profile and web site this is rear wheel drive cosworth I take it  . That explains the time and mph  . You gotta be happy with that :D :D

my personal best

Crail Raceway, Fife,Scotland

Dry & Cold (scottish weather :D )
11.82ET @ 122mph

My car is a 92 pulsar, non street legal, fully stripped out & built for drag events & the odd track day.It was built from a burnt out shell and is in its second year of development.Target for this year is 11.5, mods are extensive but the engine internals are all standard apart from the piper cams.Power is approx 450 bhp with the NOS.Pick up this months Fast & Modified Magazine (out on friday) for a full feature.

Do you have a close ratio box on or the standard one?

Fast Guy, i'm running the standard ratio box, 17" wheels 215/40 tyres. The low ratio box would require another gearchange on the run.At the mo, I'm almost on the limiter in 4th crossing the line.Grip is not great at Crail, its no silky smooth Santa Pod  I was getting wheelspin in 2nd in the dry yesterday....still managed a new PB.

11.63ET- 1.5sec 60foot-120mph terminal

Running 1.6 bar with no NOS and an ailing clutch which broke on my 21st run :x

Dave - how are your standard internals coping with all that? :? ..are you running water injection etc to keep temps down?

NISR, i'm not running water injection. My set up runs an R34 IC with water spray controlled by a pivot controller. All the pipe run is 60mm bore,I dont have headlamps/battery/fusebox etc.etc.,so the pipework is as simple & short as I can make it.Of course the NOS helps the inlet temps as well as reducing the lag.We run water/methanol on our demo Impreza, its a better choice for a road car IMHO.
To be honest, I never thought the standard internals would cope with the punishment.I litteraly chucked the engine together in time for Banzai @ Crail earlier in the year.I sold the engine I had in the car last year to buy my GT30, so had to use what I had lying about. It aint pretty, but its not dropped compression all year, and uses very little oil.Time spent upgrading the fuel system/injectors/flow meter & induction and set up on the SAFC means no det & good reliability.Having guages for 0il temp/pressure,AFR,coolant temp, fuel pressure helps keeping an eye on things.Fitting inlet & exhaust temps, knocklink for next year, upgrading to an Apexi ecu and progressive controller for the NOS.
I've spent less than 5K building this car to date, from a burnt out rusty shell, to the quickest pulsar down the Crail strip.Great wee cars :p

Oap-r, is your car running?

if so i'm in the process of arranging a GTI-R shootout for around the end of March or the begining of April, there will be magazine coverage so that would give you the chance to publicly fullfil the cars potential.

Interested??? i'd love to see what its capable of.

unofficially  ,my car has done an 11.02 sec run.that run hasn't been given any creedence on here but,i'm not bitter

over the years my car has done it share of drag racing at places like crail, pod, elvington and silverstone.

my car is running but,i've had my fill of breaking transmission components that cost thousands to replace.unless a couple of things come to fruition  ,i don't think i'll ever be stoopid enough to go drag racing again  except against rob

never say never though
