After seeing a few Safety/Devices cages and was not very impressed with them or the way they fitted. Plus the cost. Thats why I done mine the way I have. ( look at link abouve) The total cost of mine was around £500 all in. Only draw back is the time it takes to put it together plus you need a good...no great welder.
If anybody wants advice/help just let me know and ill give as much info etc as possible. ( but not fitting one as my old body will not take crawling around in the car again)

1 min 32.7 for a 1.9 mile lap from a standing start. Handles well. Fried the medium compound 15" CR311 tyres. Boosts not right as its only showing .7bar. Getting it off the line is a bit painfull. Seems to be fuelling about right. Doesnt want to rev. But pullls hard in fifth.

Hi, I am a new member of GTROC and just want to let you know that I am driving a GTIR in Rally in France. I had a lot of problems with the gearbox and finished my last race out of the road .... now the car is being rebuilt and I hope to race again mid March !!!!!

Three gtir's completed yesterdays rally, mine the last of three. Encouraged by the progress through the day. By the end there was 10 secs per stage seperating us, ish.
Brakes brill. Lots of front inner wheel spin. Diff needed. Gear ratios not ideal, as it was a bit mickey mouse...

Have you no one taking pics or vids of your runs matey?
Would be good to see the R running around the track etc.
Sunds like your having some fun with the car anyway so that im sure is worth the work and effort put in to get the car working for each rally event.

Havent found any yet, but the .........flash(es) were going off like a world war two movie as I passed the slower parts, so someone must have some. Also, have the usual tank slappers, 4 wheel drifts, loss of control that you get when running out of talent, so there should be some, somewhere. If I see some, I will post up.
Anybody up in the frozen north east (Croft) on the 22nd Jan , and the poor car will be getting another caning (Jack Frost Rally this time).
