I was thinking about taking a drive to the Ponderosa Cafe near Llangollen if the weather was nice on the bank holiday Monday.

I thought I'd post in case anyone else is interested in meeting there or having a blast up and down the horseshoe pass.

That's as much planning as I've done so far, so I'm open to suggestions if anyone has them.

It's looking overcast, but dry so I think I'll aim for ~1:00.

Even the young lad near me with the Mini Cooper S would rather stay home and wash it. - Maybe this wasn't such a great idea after all.

I might still go; maybe I can get some footage of bikers on the wrong side of the road...

Just go anyway, I had the same issue a few weeks back going for a drive to the lakes but no one would come, went on my own in a A200 Sport diesel and had a nice "leasurely" drive on my own

I really don't see the appeal; it's done less than 50,000 miles and it's on the third timing chain assembly and second vacuum pump already. - Apparently it's expected to burn oil (although not like a rotary does), so you top it up every month and only change it once every two years.

Maybe it's the shitty oil that's been in there for years leaving only thick sludge that blocks the timing chain tensioner and doesn't lubricate the vacuum pump?
The tuners can get ~9bhp back out of it by flushing the gunk out of the engine and de-coking the head

He spends more keeping that Mini on the road as my 25-year old Japanese rust box... although I probably should be spending the money on my shell.

The only problem with going on my own is that my wife will probably want to come... and then complain about the exhaust noise and vibrations.
