How bloody hard is it really to replace the manifold gasket oh my god 6 hrs that's how long nightmare of a job!!
Been in Brum all day helping my work mate on my car the 1 nut you know the one 3rd manifold pipe lowest most inaccessible nut i have ever known lots of swearing today my mate said he'll never work on a pulsar ever again lol he didn't mean it though lol we between us must of dropped that bloody nut about 30 times no lie:doh: what an absolute bitch took nearlly 2 hrs to eventually get it back on!!
Those japs must of dislocated their wrists to get that nut in there so annoying, and yes youv'e guessed it i still have the original factory cast iron manifold but i swear i will change very soon for aluminium one which will make life alot easier in the future!
And after all that fannying about the bloody turbo gasket was the thing that was blowing so still gotta do that some time:doh:
:thumbsup:One good thing did come outta today and that was i discovered i have a GARRET turbo so i'm well chuffed:thumbsup:

dont even bother to replace that nut on standard manifold as the one next to it is quite sufficient to secure manifold to the head without it blowing at all, and that ones easy to get at too.

I did mine about 2 months ago now and apart from undoing that nut, (it seemed very tight compared to the others) it was a pretty easy job. I'd be tempted to buy a longer spanner and get a blow torch on it to put a slight bend in it to make access easier for next time. And yes, take the rad out.
My elbow came off a piece of piss........when I undid the one and only nut holding it on:lol:
