excellent times are those carl, just goes to prove how much quicker the rb models are over short distances you would never get a time like that in a standard stripped car.
good reaction times too8)
What is the difference between an RB and a stripped standard ?

Probably not alot of weight difference between the two to be honest. I'll put mine on the weigh bridge tomorrow to check it again. I'm hoping it's 1110kg ish.

Aero mods. Fibreglass flat bonnet with a celica GT4 vent over the turbo, DTM mirrors, rear diffuser.

Engine parts and fuel set up. Engine - Standard bar the usual filter, exhaust and front mount. Fuel - standard bar a walbro and a dawes device running 1.1bar

I was gutted because I was so close to running an 11, but just missed out.

Reaction times don't really mean too much for me. I'd rather concentrate on the launch at the expense of the reaction time.

What Bob means is the different gearboxes. The RB has a shorter ratio, meaning faster excelleration at the expense of top speed. A stripped standard car (standard gearbox) will struggle to run the same times/ better.

Hope that helps!! :)

I weighed my car today and it was bang on 1100kg. So I just need to lose 25kg and try again.

Has anyone ever tried running with the rear spoiler off? I'm just wondering if that would reduce drag too.

Very. With 139mph he must have serious horsepower. I'm guessing maybe 600+. So at least twice my power to go 0.65s faster over the 1/4:lol:

Do you not fancy the japshow this weekend carl? See how many (if any). 11sec Rs. We can get. And may be a 10 if any one has the power.

Nah not this weekend. I'm toying with the idea of trying to get that 25kg off, possibly running without the spoiler to see what effect it has if any on the times and maybe turning the boost up a nats to get that 11 at Shakespeare next month.

Well. Carl I can say I know how you feel. 12.2 yesterday low terminal 112. Very inconsistent. Times 1.9 60ft at best and about 92mph athe the 1/8th. Not sure if the cars got a problem or if its me lol not sure why the low terminals?? Oh well it ll give me something to ponder over the next few months.

I saw your car up there yesterday mate,i was in the white gtir.
My mate took some vids of your car if you would like me to put them up?
My best yesterday was 12.3 at 112 with 1.9 60ft but i have now bent the 3rd/4th shift fork in the gearbox:doh:
As soon as i got there my starter motor died and then the alternator belt pinged off somewhere around there and then i bent the shift fork.Good old gtir reliablity:lol:
Pretty happy with my times tho as i have took 0.5 of my old best off 12.8,and i am still on the stock turbo, cams, ecu etc with a forged engine.

What revs were you changing at Steve? You're 4mph faster over the 1/8 (what time?) so should have been faster over the 1/4.
