Gearstick heavy vibration at high speeds

Hi guys i'm new to this forum.

So basically i noticed at higher speeds my gearstick vibrates then at even higher speeds it vibrates an awful lot. What could be the problem? I've been told its the exhaust knocking thats causing the extreme vibration as it wasn't fitted straight/ 100% correctly , but im not entirely sure if that is the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

In my car the exhaust knocks the anti-roll bar rather than the gearbox or the gear stick. - It's really disconcerting because it feels like a mechanical fault in front axle until you know what it is and can ignore it.

I'd guess it's a balance issue like the Doc suggests, but it might be worth checking the state of the bush that it pivots on. - My shift is much nicer since I polybushed it; less flop.
