Engine Bay Pipe/sensor?

hey guys,

For browsing engine bay pics, there are a fair few that have a pipe or sensor that runs from the exhaust manifold to the inlet manifold/throttle it appears.

Is this an extra sensor or something that is fitted extra?
Or has it been removed form other engine bays ??

Its on the first 2 pics here, but not on the third (mine).

Also, haven't seen it in the flesh on any local R's so a bit confused at moment.

What is it, and do/will I need it?

Do you mean the big silver pipe ? thats from the aircon pump, if you have aircon removed then you wont have that pipe.

Air Con has been removed on all the engine bays I've seen which omit this adn thats the common link!

My engine bay (middle picture) doesn't have that pipe anymore ;-)

mine doesnt either atm but i think it mite be hot enough to put it back now
