Here are the pics from the trackday Dan and I attended.

I might buy a set for myself but you get the idea.

We both had a shedload of fun and the rain just kept coming. It didn't matter though as after some fast sessions I thought it would make a good excuse to just goon around (aka drifting or "d*cking around in a Nissan") I think the photographer had gone by that point. In the end the afternoon was cancelled as the track got too flooded but we still got £40 back.

In short, trackdays are still one of the safest ways for you to learn about your car. Professionally organised days are nothing like "Trax" etc where everyone is trying to get their 15 minutes of fame.

So, get your name down for the GTIROC trackday , it might sound scary and expensive but it will be the best £130 you spend on the car.

I totally agree with you Jim, however for two reasons i wont be going to the track day this time, 1) I dont feel the R is ready i.e setup the way i want it to be, and 2) I have recently bought a few bits for the R to get it up to the standard i want with regards to trackdays so am short of the old £££  however wont be long im sure.:-D

Looks like you had a great time regardless of the naff weather, also sounds like you did from what Dan told me yesterday, defo something to be done, i personally think the trackday is more rewarding than the 1/4 mile sprint etc but thats my opinion others would im sure disagree.

Ant.

If my car was running ok I'd of been going to this for sure, I agree with Ant even though I love drag racing, Track days are far more rewarding as he says and you learn a lot more about how the car handles in the process....

totally agree, dragging is fun but have to wait ages for a run, and tracks closed for ages if somethings on track.
trackdays are way more fun and you can really put your car and yourself to the limit just to see how good a driver you really are!
their will always be someone better out there which puts you back on terra firma with a big bump!
so whos up for this trackday then?
