This alloy clad electical box is under the carpet in the passenger side foot well.
Any idea what it is for?

That's someones hand, holding back some carpet, whilst taking a picture of a little silver coloured box ! :lol:


Could it be the ecu for the ABS ?!

The second part I think not... I do not have ABS.

That would be my second guess. ;-) Although, if you have Thatcham 1 rated alarm fitted, all the wires would be black ?!

I also thought the ABS ECU was in the footwell..

Why not take it out and see if its labeled anywhere..??

BTW, I'm 15 miles up a single track road. Only road in and out.
Somebody stuck my Gas Gas trials bike in the back of there hatchback a few years ago and the police where waiting for them at the end of the road agter a quick phone call.

I also have secondary car security.

You dumb ass i's not in the footwell it's behind a plastic cover on the side of the footwell :doh: :doh: ;-) .

Have you followed the wires to see where they go to???

I found a box like that but smaller, wires went to the back of the car plugged into nothing and a second thicker wire went behind the dash.

Ripped it out and and the box was for a CD changer that must have been in the car when it was in Japan. The second wire went to a remote control for the CD changer! (Just shows you how old the CD changer must have been if it had a wire for the remote!! :lol:)

Thats where he said he was looking!! So assumed ABS ECU..

I have another picture.
In this pic, you can see the alarm box with all black cables to the left of the box in question. It's pissing with rain. I'll have a closer look when rain stops or I get the car under cover..... thanks!
