Website New Direction - Important please read

Definitely with Gtiroz on the facebook-generation thing. I´m also a member of the Honda club in norway, and there´s heaps of new people coming in to the Facebook-group, but none use the forum. Which really is a pity. Damn their short attention spans. So questions are being asked over and over...

    How to unplug ABS

One of life´s greater mysteries. I´ll write a four page how-to if I figure it out!

    How to unplug ABS

Ooo, subtle. :-D Already did the small flat screwdrivers thing, maybe I´m sticking it somewhere wrong. I would think it should go between the connector and the metal tab it´s connected to first, and then you can get the plug out? At least that´s how it works on my Honda.

Seriously? Has this forum died while I was away?

    How to unplug ABS

So here´s the dumbass question of the week; I´ve got an error code 7 on my ABS unit, and I wanted to check the resistance of the sensor. But I can´t unplug it! What´s the trick to getting the darn-diddly-arned plug out of its socket?

    Injector size selection!

I have more experience with Sard than RC, so I'll stick with them methinks. And 1.9 was pretty theoretical, the 1.6 range is more likely for daily use! :)

    Injector size selection!

You would have to adjust the fuel pressure regulator to supply less fuel than standard then, so that the amount of fuel served by the injectors is the same as with the 444cc ones. If you are going to increase injector size, you _have_ to tell the ECU that the injectors are bigger, or it will...

Would you use Bronze valve guides?

Running phosphor bronze myself, no problems.

    Installing ORC Ogura Clutch/Flywheel combo

What kind of clutch is it? Twin plate? Single? :) If ORC -as OS Giken - supply their own release bearing (looks like they do), check if the bearing needs a specific carrier. I ran into this problem with my OS clutch.

Car pulls to the left under braking.

One more for the solution database, I suppose! I did have a D'oh-moment when I filled the bleeder with a litre of brake fluid, only to find out that the damned thing sucked insted of blew though.

Car pulls to the left under braking.

It was about £70 from a cheap store, plus a teeny tiny £100 compressor! It was worth it - this was the last thing on earth I needed "friends" for.

Car pulls to the left under braking.

Pulling solved! ABS still there though. http://www.gtiroc.com/forums/showthread.php?50171-Trondelond-s-R&p=487243&viewfull=1#post487243 And I thought all was well when the pedal was hard.

Car pulls to the left under braking.

I've always wanted one, this is the perfect excuse! :D Will try it tonight! I thought it could have to do with the ABS as well, but I have the same problem if the ignition is off.

Car pulls to the left under braking.

It's very hard to disagree with your reasoning here! You know what - I'm just gonna go buy a powerbleeder thing. It'll save me a lot of hassle later, as I don't need someone to operate the brake pedal then. Binning the ABS is unfortunately not an option as of yet. Thanks!

Car pulls to the left under braking.

...which brings me to another question - and the reason why I didn't clean it yesterday - how do you remove the heat shield?

Car pulls to the left under braking.

Ok, at least the abs and the leftpulling don´t seem to be related. Changed back to the OE master cylinder, and bled the system - it still pulled to the left. Back to the garage, and got a huge burp from the rear right caliper, and a smaller one from the front. Still locks the front left wheel...

Car pulls to the left under braking.

That was my next suggestion. My main concern was that the ABS doohickeys would physically alter the brake balance - not just turn the ABS off, and thus it would be a good idea to remove the ABS fuse. But it did hit me that as the brake balance was off even when the car wasn´t running, the ABS...

Car pulls to the left under braking.

Come to think of it, the brakes did slip when I tightened the driveshaft bolt on the right hand side, and not at all on the left. The pedal is rock hard, so I doubt that is the problem. There is another bleed nipple, but that´s virtually inaccessible unfortunately. I noticed a pretty high...
