What have you done with your pulsar today?

Took the drivers side door switch panel out to start troubleshooting the general deadness of the thing. Nothing obvious so probay going to be shopping for a replacement unless I've missed something really stupid.

'New' MOT rules on Catalytic converters?

The exhaust went through the new MOT rules as it sits - without CAT - no issues (gasses were fine as usual). First use registry on The System shows 1991 (apparently) first use so is exempt from the CAT requirement. Concern was more to do whether the interpretation of the rule was that if the...

'New' MOT rules on Catalytic converters?

First use dates do still apply but my understanding is that the decatting would basically be an insta-fail if its discovered. Mines a centre muffler type install so looks right at first glance. The annoying thing is that even without the CAT the gasses are easily under the limits.

'New' MOT rules on Catalytic converters?

Yeah. The regs basically say that if anything has been done to remove any part of the exhaust system which controls emissions then its instant 'major' failure, regardless of the actual gasses coming out the back.

'New' MOT rules on Catalytic converters?

Just booked the old girl in for a basic service and MOT and have been told that I may hit problems with the emissions as there are new rules which state that if a car had a CAT when it was made, it MUST have one fitted OR pass the same emissions levels as it the CAT was still present... Now, I...

What have you done with your pulsar today?

Cleared off the 'Red Shelf', dusted the old girl down and woke her up from her winter siesta for a run to Guildford for the eldests rugby tournament. Took the chance to update the To-Do list too: Get the wee bit of rot on the tailgate sorted Replace or refurb the gas struts on same fix the poxy...

    Oil spotting after 'enthusiastic' driving.

Well took the tmic off today to try to work out where this oil was coming from. Everything dry, except the intercooler itself which has a film of oil inside. Not like pools of it - just a coating. None the wiser where the oil is releasing from breather system looked and felt dry on the outside...

    Oil spotting after 'enthusiastic' driving.

No, don't think so - oil level is in the correct range, although it is at the higher end of the range marking.

    Oil spotting after 'enthusiastic' driving.

Sounds very similar. It's all OEM at the moment. Looking down over the top of the gearbox, seems to be a little oil on top, and the cable loom above it looks like there's oil on it which makes me think its coming from reasonably high up.

    Oil spotting after 'enthusiastic' driving.

I've been running the R at a few autosolos and have recently noticed a little oil spotting under the car after each run recently. The side its on makes me think its maybe coming from the breather system, and the nature of the event (Lots of vigorous cornering and sliding it about on power in...

    30th Anniversary meet?

Think Retro Gathering could be a good choice - location is good and prep if you want to run the hill not too PITA for people who are not track regulars. Silverstone Classic could be another but like you say attendance wasn't great at 25. The Simply Japanese Rally runs out of Beaulieu, but thats...

Can someone please help me because this is driving me WILD!!!!

Yeah no problems although prying the panel out just reminds me how filthy my door cards are - you'll probably be best off getting the whole unit from someone breaking a car down rather that going at the pcb with a soldering iron, but if nothing else you can always get a same spec relay and try...
