Have you took the thermostat out and checked its opening, but white smoke can indicate head gasket on way out can't say for sure though :(

dodgy thermostat, did you have enough water in to start with , have you changed the coolant recently if so could be an air lock, did you check your oil to see if it was creamy or was the waster brown and oily in which case headgasket. Also could have a split pipe some where

Did the gtir come with Front indicators in a full orange colour or was it just the bulbs, im talking about the ones next to the headlight not the ones on wing. Im sure i have sen some with full orange lenses on the front.

it says in the add it had a private plate on could he just be putting the other plate over it for the pics to show what reg your getting instead of the private reg

You are not gonna throw a rocker if you set the revlimit low I had one on my skyline years ago when I bought it was already on it,you could set the rev limit to say 6k it would cut fuel then ignite the fuel etc and cause the massive pops and bangs you talk about. I don't recommend them but its...
