I don't own a GtiR because I had to sell mine when I left the UK, but I do still own a motor and rear subframe from one that is going into a project car here in the US. So I haven't been active on the forum for a while but I would like to bring to you all's attention that the GtiR is coming up...
What happened to the turbo? Is the engine standard ... any uprated parts? Any problems with the way the engine ran?
Do you have a trailer or anyway I can transport it here? If not, I could maybe find someone who has a trailer.
I will be moving back to the US :usa: in July and since I can't import a GtiR, I'm going to import it in pieces .... well the important parts at least. :-D
:chained:
My plan is to swap the entire AWD running gear of the GtiR into an early 90's Nissan Sentra SE-R. It has been done a couple of...

Starter installed, cranked like a champ!! My only regret ... I accidentally flipped an apex bit down into the engine bay & I never found it. I have a gravel drive and I looked for hours .... I don't know if it fell all the way through to the ground or is stuck on the engine...
Yep it's dead. I think the solenoid is still ok because the gear will pop out but it won't turn. I picked up my reconditioned one from the parts store today anyway.
Before I turned my old one in for the core I took it apart to see maybe if I could just clean it up and get it to work. It...
ya I am a little worried about the sound limit. The tack limit is 101db ... I don't exactly remember but I think I was at 103db at Snetterton a couple of years ago. I've got an exhaust bung that I'm going to try if it's too loud.
That's cool I'll play around with it a little but I actually like the bite where it's at. It's only a couple of inches off the floor and is great for quick shifts. I was mostly just wondering if that is normal for a clutch like this??
Damn Bob ... an endless sea of Pulsar parts at your finger tips and still can't get this sorted out. I've definitely felt this way about mine before. I don't know what to tell you though. All I know about suspension setups is what I learned from Gran Turismo 5.
Good luck to you...
I pulled the starter motor out and it was actually one of the more straight forward and simplest things I've ever done on a car. Took me less than an hour and I only made myself bleed once. :-P Although, I have no Y-bracket so I don't think it would be as easy if it weren't for that.
Now...
I finished this clutch install last week. It took me about 2 1/2 days to get it done and that was in a full shop with lift and access to tools. I wasn't really in a hurry and I also changed the shocks and springs to GABs and some lowering springs so I worked on it for almost a week to get all...
No I'm scheduled for a deployment ... can't really say much more than that. It's all good though!! I've already registered for a full open pit lane day at Bedford for next Saturday!! :-D
I'm going to be there ... maybe not in my R but hopefully I will if all goes well with a new starter. If not then I will be there in my Audi S3. (the more sophisticated & younger german brother of the Pulsar) :-D
AAAAHHHHH SHITE!! I just realised the track day is for the 30th of October not September so I will not be attending as I will be out of the country by then.
