Well, that escalated quickly. o_O

All I was trying to say is that it's unlikely you'll find a completely unmolested car, and personally I think it would be shame to buy one then start modifying it.

Why not just assume that you're going to have to redo the work and find one that's lightly modified or at least has mods you're happy aren't dodgy?

Even cars for sale from Japan seem to have had some modifications done... although anything that looks expensive probably won't be on it when it lands here (and nobody will know anything about that).

mods from japan in general tend be light bolt on bits, such as exhaust, filter, strut bars, struts, wheels & maybe ecu steering wheel.
They don't tend be missing many (any) screws & clips or as scruffy as a lot found elsewhere.
Bit of patience & the same budget on Japan import will buy a car far better condition & far closer to standard if that part of your criteria .
