Having bought a gearbox for £270 it turns out to be faulty. The guy I bought it from ( won't mention any names ), has promised me another gearbox, after a couple of weeks waiting he said he can't get any at the moment, I've found another gearbox but can't afford another £200 , this guy won't reply to my message or my phone calls, where do I stand regarding a refund of some sort ? , thanks

Wait for an exchange unit, take it back, talk to him/her transgender or whatever , like anything to get refunded you have to send the item back .

What they said.

Take it back for a refund, did you pay cash, did you get a receipt?

Also name and shame, need to make sure people know who they are dealing with (facts only)

Depends how you paid for it and what yoy brought it via. Im sure they are not trying to fleece you of 270 quid but stay calm and I am sure you can work something out. These boxes are 20+ years old and without professionals looking at them there is always a risk with them

Keep calm and carry on, the bloke you bought the box off could be flat out at the minute so there could be a good reason for him not getting back to you.

I can tell you first hand how hard it is to answer texts and all the rest of it! I was out the door at 5 this morning looking at a R then I had to go to price a rewire job along with going to a rewire that we started on Monday to help the lads out and make sure all was ok an after that I went to a call out at 9 tonight and didn't get in till gone half 10.....now I have to sit up sort the paper work out answer pms emails ect and write a list for a lad that's stripping the Rs for me tomorrow, because I don't have the time to do it, I'm back up again at 5..... I wish I had a 9 to 5 job but the truth is I don't and running two companies is a first class pain in the arse.
