Anyone want to own up to this!

Looked quite well controlled all-in-all; a bit of damage from where it kissed the tyres, but it could have been worse. - Nice find!

you call swapping ends well controlled! its was his lack of control that caused it,then he was just a passenger. i read summit about not breaking before or after the crest there before that corner ,seems it catches quiet a lot of folk out

Looks to me like the back end stepped out when the car went light coming over Avon rise, he steered into it and held it fairly well at that speed to be honest but then it snapped back the other way (as they've got a tendency to do) causing him to spin.

I think the spin actually saved him a bit as it scrubbed off a lot of the speed before reaching the barrier

it could have been worse
He was lucky, i've seen quite a few accidents there and in comparison he got away quite lightly ;-)

im an argumentative twat! and totally disagree, turning in it is a natural reaction, it needed alot more over/under/over/under and tiny corections not just having the wheel one way thats why it slapped his arse

im guessing braking before the rise,or atleest while the car is not lite is the way to go

I've been in this position a few times (some on this very corner!) and in my experience in situations where you need to use a lot of steering lock to correct a slide at those sort of speeds the car always trys to snap back the other way when you're trying to straighten it up again.

Maybe its a handling characteristic of the car or maybe its just that we don't have your god like driving skills :lol:

notice the small corrections not just yarking hard one way, like you say maybe its a flow in the short wheel base design or the guy just shit himself,iv only ever not saved a spin once and that was at 110mph and i did shit myself

now go practice your skinny little faggot

no doubt correct my fault, for not getting the car checked out on the rollers before i took it to cadwell, they say you live in learn,

i never found out the reason why the engine failed, then again it was totally standard unit and was really never going to last that long with that tubby strapped to it and the short ratio box, buzzing around cadwell at 8k was never going to be healthy for it lol, atleast it got used for which it was built

did you ever find out what happened to that tubby you fooked?

oil starvation, caused by the powder coating coming off the steel sump pan and going all the way thru the engine finally blocking the oil line restrictor in the turbo, never seen it happen before.

so i learnt that day never to use a sump that has been dented then straightend out, my own stupidity.

that car is nearley finished now, got a new project on the way

We you the passenger or driver?

:p
If only; it looked like a great ride!

I was watching the TT Bikes last week and thinking those guys must have nerves of steel; look how close they are to walls and lamp posts etc. Plus it's not as though the road surface is consistent, nor the light levels even. It's a dangerous race, and people know it but race anyway; that's why it's nice to see it still running.

I suppose that's why it seems so addictive for some of those riders.
