weve had this car in our workshop for last 2 weeks and just fitted him an engine etc.

his name is adam lockwood and im pleased to tell you all that hes competing in this years nippon challenge8)

hes been racing karts since he was a kid and won lots of stuff outright then he moved in to tintop racing in an mr2 for which hes won the championship last two seasons outright.

hes now gonna be racing this pulsar in nippon challenge and hes appearing at castle comb within next 2 weeks and brandshatch shortly too (il be down there to give some support)

no polybushes
standard stoppers with ebc yellowstuff pads
2 1/2'' exhaust
no braces
even tubbys smaller than a stock t28

just a cage and basic fia equipment and driver but i think hes gonna do rather well, evidentally this fella really can make a car talk and knows his stuff!
i hope and honestly believe that he will do rather well as does his dad who i was speaking to today.....anyways one to look out for;-)

no not that i know of : /
this is the first pulsar hes ever owned, but in usual pulsar fashion....first time he tested the car on track it was a case of bang went engine

Stock brakes :der:

I dont think I would ever go near a track with stock brakes, christ they are barely adequate for the roads so I cant imagine they would be much cop after a few 100+ mph stops!

well i would have thought the same john but his dad said because hes grown up racing karts that hes light on brakes and uses throttle and box, i personally think he may struggle as the pulsar is nose heavy and if he goes in too quick hes gonna be understeering big time

im keen to watch him to see how he handles the car with little to no modification in the handling department!, if hes that good then it goes to prove that a lot of it is down to driver ability as opposed to mods making it easier to drive a car if you know what i mean

why the helss he using a pulsar?!

well i guess like most of us on here that he wants something different, its oh so easy to just by a scooby or evo but he wanted a raw drivers car.

other than steve ferguson up in geordie land (whos car was always going boooom) i dont know of anyone else who's used the car to race on circuit.
i and a few others have talked about it but not actually gone out and took the plunge and invested time and money in actually doing it.

i hope the guy is successfull because if he is with the minimal mods hes running then it will put the R on the racing map as a real contender
it will also show people that its not all about big power and thousands spent in modifications.

roll on brands hatch as im itching to go watch him8)

Is this the guy that's got the same turbo that I've just bought Bob? Td05.
I thought it was a bigger turbo, the evo boys are running 400+hp on them!

no its a smaller turbo stu, im sure it looks like one from an early evo, perhaps not the same as your one then : /

dan.....yes i hope it dont end in mechanical failiure lol, wont be good advert for me if it does:doh: im confident in the engine!
whether his stock gearbox will hold up is another matter though but it should be ok as cars not even making 300 ponies

Its prob a tdo4 then bob.

Mine is a tdo5 off the gsr. Some guys have run over 400bhp on them. So I'm told. The spec sheet says they're good for 365bhp.

just got this from adam saying he finished 2nd in class at castle comb at the weekend in nippon challenge:thumbsup:

which for 1st outing and first drive in a basically stock pulsar with stock brakes is great news.

in the other race he flew from 10th off the grid to third place but then the car died mysteriously but was running fine when bought back to pits so he could possibly have a prob with ign module or fuelling prob as car was experiencing severe fuel surge so hes gonna use an independant race cell tank or swirl pot.

engine was all fine and dandy and pulling very hard which im obviously very pleased about.

just goes to show that a lot of it is down to driver ability, all the mods in the world aint gonna help you if you cant drive the thing lol

cant wait till he does brandshatch to see what times he can push round there.

its a good advert for the pulsar when hes whooping 50k plus evos and scoobys in a car that cost peanuts:lol:
so very well done adam:thumbsup:
